The Man from Glengarry
The City of Ottawa has some interesting free programming this summer. Perhaps most notably given the footage of 1922 Ottawa is this free screening of the silent film "The Man from Glengarry" tomorrow (July 17) 7:30 - 10:30 pm. From the City website:
"This film, a spectacular silent feature shot in Ottawa in the early 1920s by director Henry Macrae, concerns a blood feud between the leaders of rival logging camps along the Ottawa River. This reel is one of only two that remain in existence. The film features the Parliament buildings, the old downtown train station and the logging era on the Ottawa river. "
The film is being screened in Marion Dewer Plaza and will be set to live music composed by Mike Dubue and performed by the Hilotrons.
